In the past it was often thought that getting older was a time to slow down and take it easy. Thanks to medical research, we now know that staying active as we get older has a huge number of health benefits, both physically and mentally.
Personal training and coaching is definitely a young person's game, every year I feel the industry is getting younger and at 39 I am turning into an elder statesman. Well I'm not ready to hang up my gloves just yet and neither should you be. Staying healthy is the key to feeling younger, I can still do everything that I could do in my early to mid twenties, with one difference... I'm fitter stronger and smarter than I was then so in many cases I can actually do it better. So there is no reason whatsoever that you cannot turn back the clock and get a body and mind that feels like it did 10 or even 20 years ago!

so how does the program work?
STEP 1: We get you in for a free 45 min consultation and movement MOT!
This is gives us a chance to meet in person, for you to ask me any questions you might have regarding the program and for me to take you through a taster session. Here I can assess how you move, see what kind of shape you are in physically and we can make a joint decision on whether or not the program is right for you.
STEP 2: We get you signed up, show you all the resources that comes with the program and get them sent out ready for you to start using!
This program is not only about the exercise, you will also receive a whole host of nutrition and home exercise resources to ensure you can get the most out of the program by covering every possible angle and making sure we leave no stone un-turned.
STEP 3: We get you into the groove and start working towards achieving your goals!
We introduce you to the group and make sure you are attending your 3 weekly sessions and I am coaching you individually through nutrition, habit coaching and mindset side of the program and you are working towards hitting your individual goals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to be fit to start on this program?
Short answer is no. It is my job to get you fitter and healthier. I go into great depth in order to ensure you can master the fundamental movement patterns needed and can adapt them to suit any fitness or ability level. So you will always get a challenging and fun workout that is pitched at the right level for you.
What if I am currently in a bit of pain or carrying an injury? Does this matter?
No, not at all. This is what the initial assessment is for. During this session I will take you through a functional movement screen that will help me assess what you are currently able to do and to help me highlight what areas we need to work on. One of the main USP's of the program is to help you work and get fitter in spite of an injury or pain so doesn't hold you back.
What types of things will we be doing on the program and why will they help?
The program will involve functional weight training, medium to high intensity cardio vascular conditioning and flexibility training. The workouts will be varied and no one session will ever be the same. Most sessions will involve a combination of all 3 things but some might focus just on flexibility and strength, or flexibility and cardio endurance. The goal is to make you move as well as we can and to be able to cope with any challenges life throws at you. I want to turn you into an all-round functional athlete. To answer your next question, the answer is No! You are not too old to be an athlete. Everyone who sets foot through the doors automatically becomes an athlete in their own right.
So the weight training is good for functional strength, bone density and posture, the cardiovascular training is there to keep your heart and lungs functioning well so you are not as susceptible to COPD and other related illnesses. The flexibility is there to keep you injury free, to also hel with posture and to help you get into the positions I want you to to perform the movements effectively.
Will I need any specialist equipment for the home training sessions?
No these are designed around body weight training but I will send you other options that may include dumbbells or a kettle bell if you have those pieces of kit and would prefer to use them in your training.
How long does it take to prepare the meals or snacks in the recipe books?
They vary a little bit but very few will take you longer than around 20 minutes to make. Most of the breakfast and lunch options will take less than 5 mins to prepare from scratch.
Do I need to count calories or points on this program?
No. This program is based around offering you easy and healthy alternatives that are automatically lower in calories but higher in nutrient density and goodness. The nutrition program is based around you being able to form and stick to positive long lasting habits that will result in weight loss and a healthier and leaner physique. Oh yeah, you will have more energy too.
